RAMADA MANILA CENTRAL

May 20, 2014

Food and travel are two things in my life that I am passionate about.  These are blessings that I truly cherish.  I work hard to experience these --- tasting good food, checking out nice & affordable hotels, discovering places.  Siem Reap in Cambodia was my choice of destination this May.  However, we were not able to purchase cheap airfare tickets.  Our available dates were also limited.  But we need a vacation!  I need to experience something that will somehow take my mind off my business and paper works.  When I saw a seemingly affordable hotel rate in www.booking.com, I became interested!  How about an overnight stay in a hotel plus food trip?

Last May 16-18, 2014, my friend and I decided to stay in Ramada Manila Central in order to experience longer days of Chinese food trip.  I knew that one day will not be enough to explore Binondo and do some shopping in Divisoria.  I was able to book two nights stay with www.booking.com for only Php5,120++.  We paid Php6,070 (supposedly only Php6,067. 20 but they do not have coins anymore according to the front desk officer) as we checked-out.

We were asked to pay a refundable Php2,000 per night deposit fee (total of Php4,000) aside from the room accommodation.  Complimentary drinks were also served.  They were refreshing and light!

Our room was a Deluxe King (I inquired since the one stated in our booking.com reservation was Superior Double or Twin Room).  It was not carpeted as in most hotel rooms but I still like it.

I was hoping that the bathroom is nice!  Let's just say that I was delighted to see that the bathroom was spacious and clean! :)

We were also provided with a map around the area.  I find this cool!  It was like they knew we were there for a food trip!  Mag-aala-Dora na si Fae! :)  Hahaha!

Breakfast for two was also inclusive already.  I love their mantou dipped in condensed milk!  Too bad that they didn't serve it in our second day breakfast :(  I was really disappointed!

There's also a (very limited) scheduled shuttle service (free!) to and from SM Mall of Asia and Lucky Chinatown Mall.  168 Mall and Tabora Street are just behind Lucky Chinatown Mall.  Despite the heat of the sun, we opted to walk back to the hotel since there was no shuttle service scheduled during that time (and we were too frugal to pay Php60-70 for a tricycle).  It was not that far, we thought! :)

There's an on-going Halo-halo buffet for only Php149 in the hotel's cafe (lobby floor).

Aside from great food finds, we were also captivated with the Binondo Church and other buildings in the area.

Thank you Ramada Manila Central for providing us a fun weekend!  We hope to be back soon! <3
